Sometime between 1999 and 2001, members of the Guided by Voices mailing list Postal Blowfish took on the challenge of re-recording every song that was released on Box in sequence. The Guided by Voices Box is a collection the band's first four full-length albums released in 1987, 1989, and 1990 plus a disc of unreleased cuts which were recorded in the time period between 1988 to 1993. The LP version also includes the landmark 5th album Propeller, which was added to the tribute to satisfy protest from members of the community.
